I didnt even do the twhacking bit, I drilled out the full ring when it was on the bike then rode it for 6 months and the vibration then broke the remaining weld on the unsupported inner tube and they came out on their own

When I did mine years ago I used a hole cutter, can't remember the size but it was just slightly smaller than the outlet spout, that way you don't have to drill a load of holes  plus you get a nice clean cut and don't have to spend loads of time cleaning the edges up  you still have to fight like hell to get the baffle out though

I drilled four holes, each about 8mm in size.
It does sound a lot better than before, as in i can actully hear it now, but it's more of a putt putt putt sound, rather than a smooth deep grumble.

Ultimately i am after something that sounds like this:

It would seem that Devil exhaust are like hens teeth though and very hard to obtain.

I guess i'm after that low bassy sound that vibrates through you, from the thumping V-Twins, rather than all out volume. And i can only assume that i won't get that unless i swap the end cans over.

Deano,
the full baffle removal from stock cans makes that kind of noise............the only reason I changed to race cans was the weight benefit,

Just had a look on YouTube for VTRs and bafflectomy.
I'm impressed with the grumble, and this is what i'm after

But then i found this, and this is similar to what my bike sounds like now, clackety and more of a phfft, than a bassy grumble - what's the difference?

Microphones!!! Don't rely on video's for sound comparison/examples. You need to hear them in the flesh for anything accurate.

But the first link is more true to sound, rather than the second one?
