polishing my frame?

hi guys,

now we are getting into winter i want to start my winter projects for the bike, one of which is polishing anything that can be polished. starting with that horrid grainy bit of frame just under the seat.....

so ANY tips would be good, this is my plan so far:

1) wet and dry, silly low grades
2) more wet and dry, 400,600,800
3) polish
4) glass polish cloth 800, 1200, 1600, 1800, 20000, 80,000
5) sh1t loads of autosol....


ANy input, pics or refs to this sort of polishing would be great! (and yes im doing it by hand!)

This is my first post so if it's pants I apoligise in advance,anyway here goes.

What finish do you require i.e Mirror polished or Just cleaned up?

If you require Mirror Polished it is easier to do than many people think and cheaper to do yourself than paying so called professional polishers.
If you need any info on how to do this I am happy to help.

If you wish to just clean it up I would suggest you try using a scotchbrite disc the type you can fit on an electric drill and attack your subframe with that it will save a lot of time and is just as effective as wet and dry, but take the tailunit off first.

i did it once with wet and dry on my ZXR yokes but it took dayyyyyyysssssss?
