Carl,
the PR2's are also sport tour tyre, the 3 is just the new version which costs more!

what does the profile problem feel like.........is it like a fish noise  ............... ignore the joke, I am interested to understand what it is that bothers you, as there are time when i dont like the linearity of turn in and I just go on faith that the rubber has good grip and as the lean angle gets bigger the linearity returns.

I can say that carls tyres have a very flat profile, and the centre has already worn down, but apart from the middle 3 or so centimetres the rest has good tread, obviously carl does a lot of town riding so the centre will wear more, but it seems to have overly worn, not sure how many miles he got out of them tho.

I don't know what the miles on the tyres are either. I'd have to work that one out and guestimate from when I purchased them. It's not so much that the tyre has worn, But the ends of the grooves towards the centre of the tread are starting to get to point of being illegal. Even though the the rest of the tread is great. When I got the MOT he said It's getting a bit low and I would need a new tyre by next year.

I run the rear at 42psi which may be a little high possibly. No complaints with the front. I'm thinking a more sporty tyre with a more rounded profile and less grooves will be better and I will get more miles out of them. These have a very flat profile. Other than that they are a great tyre especially in the wet. Loads of grip and confidence inspiring. They do take some time to get some heat in them though which is not so good in the hot weather.

Don't do it you might get 2-3k from a rear !
Don't get me wrong I love them as I can go out and ride it in anger .
I've found the normal pilot power last longer but still I'm going for road 2's next

Well why not have them last 3 ?? You are never going to out ride the tyre, so get one that lasts, with more dry grip than you'll ever need, and is proven in the wet. Supersport tyres a a total waste of money for 99.9% of road riders, although most won't admit it.

I was thinking the Power 2CT's when the time comes. Currently on Bridgestone's (021 front, 020 rear I think) and they seem to take longer to warm up than the PR3's I had on the Bandit.
Fancy trying something different but might go back to PR3's, though there's the 4's now aswell, and the 2's are probably just as good and cheaper. It's all a gamble, and then you're stuck with them for a while either way!

Seriously mate, get a quote on the PR2's before you spend your dosh. I used to avoid michelins due to the price, but once I used these I had to admit they are well worth the extra money. Link to a vid of the PR3's on a track, but imo there's little difference between the 2 and 3.
