Rear End Squeeks?

Ok folks had a little squeek as summer came on and we finally had some dry weather. Quick and easy diagnosis you should all know it by now, the rear suspension linkage.
After some liberal spraying with the good old WD 40 squeek stops, Pete stops worrying about it. Well guess what's happened now.... No, no squeek, I thought I was just putting up with cold slimey roads and half worn tyres, the bike was handly poorly at low speeds and untill I washed it this morning I didn't even know I was in trouble. Have a look at this

So, if you've got a squeek go out and inspect it, strip it and regrease/ bush it and do it before it trys to kill you

Chers Guys
Went cold when I first spotted it, kept staring at it thinking "No that can't be right"
Then went into instant pissed off mode cause I had planed to get a trade in this afternoon on another SP2 I've had my eye on.
Seams my new bike plans are doomed

Oh well, guess I'd better get this sorted and start again

its funny u mention this because as i got back from todays rideout and parked my bike up it started making a squeeking noise. i dont know if this has anything to do with it but i adjusted the rear shock 1 notch on the top to make it a bit sofeter. would this have anything to do with it?

When I saw your topic title I was about to say that you need to inspect the bearings on your rear suspension linkages but I guess that you've noticed what the problem is!

After having all the bearings replaced make sure you re-grease them once a year.

Could be xxx.
With a softer spring you'll get a little more travel so it's worth checking it out. Just remember lads (and lasses) put a block under the engine or use a center stand (one that attaches to the engine) before you heave the main bolt out

And, yes I did use one before anyone asks

how about drilling the bolts and tapping them to accept grease nipples?one quick squirt every now and then and ....sorted.going to do mine this winter for sure!
