Shock link and swinger
When replacing the rear swinging arm and rear shock linkage, Is it better to put the linkage on first and then the arm or the other way round, Thanks in advance, Lee

Well I would/have done it like this...
Bolt/torque up the linkage & shock to the swinger all off the bike. Then wiggle it all into place holding it by putting the nut on the top shock mount but loose don't tighten it yet, then you can move it about to get the swinger & dog bone in place & feed the bolts through.
When I've done mine I had it hanging off the rafters so I had loads of room, you do sometimes think an extra hand would be nice so if you have a helper all the better.
Once its all in place torque up the dog bone, & top nut & realise you have forgotten the r/h footrest, so take the swinger bolt back out fit the footrest slide the swinger bolt back in add the l/h footrest & torque up.
Factory way is bolt in from the right hand side but IIRC there's a reason to put in in from the left but I can't remember why...
Don't forget you can use the rear spindle to push through & hold the swinger in place if you do need to.
Use plenty of high temp grease on all the spindles, it's fairly easy & gets better with practice...you'll be back down there next year regressing the spindles anyway...wont you.

Put the swing arm bolt in from the right as it's easier to remove and fit the chain by just removing the nut and left foot hanger .
With a torque wrench :-)
