VTR1000F - 1999 for sale

Post by bucklandswifty »

It is with great sadness that I am selling my Storm..

Year of manufacture = 1999
Mileage = 38,624
Colour = Red (but you can see that!)

It is a standard bike apart from the fairing which is quite a nice one. It has manual cam tensioners and the standard pipes have had the end baffles removed, sounds lovely without being a thug!

There are some members who will remember this bike from a workshop day, I was the chap who brought the cider.

I would like to get £1500 or very near to that, which I think is a fair price.

Chris

Hi Chris, how are you keeping? Why are you selling the bike? I see even the Dvla realise how slow the red'uns are and ask for an ETA!!!

au contraire Kev, it's the red'uns that go too fast, well, to fast for my common sense. It needs to go before I fall foul of the radar!

How much is a flat bar conversion for a Storm likely to cost?

I may be interested in this if it's not massive amounts of money.

Good luck with the sale, its a nice bike and I can verify the cam chain tension is set correctly and the valve clearances have been done

Go on Chris, you know you want to :D

budget in:
new top yoke - I made mine, but if you had to buy one they are about £100
Bars - £25
Bar end weights - £10
Longer brake lines - £20
Clutch line should be OK, just
then you need to extend the horn wiring by about 2" and cut the fairing

It is indeed very clean and has just been washed, looking at the front wheel and the water droplets by the looks of it on the ground which could get mistaken for oil. Or did you spill some oil while topping up.

Oh dear me Cybercarl, what do you think it is, a T140?! (that was a Triumph I think)

To have an oil splatter like that it really would have to be circa 1960 <> British...

I did think when I saw the water "evidence" in the photos someone would make something of it, chuffed I wasn't let down!

It is really heartening that so many of you keep in touch, I am wavering now on keeping "her"\"it cannot bring myself to say "him" ships are "her" I think.

Okay, just finished bottling the Cider so I may be rambling some what.....

Stay safe one and all.

Chris
