What a day....

Post by Mav617 »

Well, as some may know I got hacked off yesterday and the Hound went on EBay. Was miserable last night and this morning decided not to be so soft and just try again.

Tank off, pipes checked/blown clear, refitted, fuel on/off/on, and lo and behold she started - thanks to all who posted helpful info.

So, I then decided to have a go at the non-bleeding front brake issue. Fitted one of these (thanks Carl for the tip), new banjo with bleed nipple:

Five minutes bleeding the m/c and pressure was building nicely. Then bled both calipers using a tube/oneway valve and all is good! Very slight binding but that may be the new pads need bedding in.

Thanks again to everyone - not only does it now go, it stops too!

Now, where's my Dremel and that right hand exhaust.......
I'm so unlucky that if there is such a thing as re-incarnation I'll come back as me!

Old thread I know, but...

I have just fitted new braided lines and now cannot get pressure in the system. I believe there is no more air in the front lines themselves but rather the MC is full of air! A knowledgable storm owner on another forum suggested cracking the banjo bolt and 'bleeding' the MC that way as you would if it were a bleed nipple (I don't have a bleed nipple fitted to the MC like the guy did in this thread). This will cause Dot 4 to drip and spray EVERYWHERE. Is there an easier/less messy way of bleeding the MC on the Storm?

Thanks!

Crack the banjo bolt on the master to bleed it

if you remove the horn and the brake lever you can lower the master cyl down through the fairing and then take it an the callipers off the bike, bleed the system on the garage floor, crack all the banjos, pump top to bottom, make lots of mess, then refit them when done.

have a look at the pictures in this thread
