For Sale- Throttle Position Sensor- TPS

Post by tony.mon »

Working TPS, ready to bolt on, adjust, and use.

Useful if you've damaged yours trying to adjust to 500 ohms!
also useful if you bought a spare set of carbs but they came without one.

What about the broken carbs, any plans for them. Do you fancy sticking them through a band saw or angle grinding them in half. It would be nice to see all the channels inside them, a cut out view of things. Cut straight down the centreline and through the main air jet.

Help yourself, mate.
I barely have a band-aid, let alone a band saw.

I don't have a band saw but I do have an angle grinder. Strip all the bits you want off them, and is there any chance you can bring them with you workshop day.

Yes, there is any chance.
But if it's an angle grinder job, I may have my 9" jobbie on one beforehand.

What are you planning to be able to see once I've massacred one with an angle grinder?
Horizontal or vertical section?

I'm not fecking about painting the cut sections red, though.

A cross section cut straight through the middle from diaphragm cap end to diaphragm cap end. Just think it would be interesting to see the insides and any passages that show up. Cutting from that direction would at least give a chance of seeing the main air jet and passage up from the main jet and out into the carb throat, plus the mixture passage.

the grinder will just destroy it, unless you get one hell of a good cutting disc on it, even then I think the carbs are to intricate to be cut with a grinder....

That would be excellent Mark. I think it would be an interesting thing to see the inside of a carb and how passages run.

oops- I hadn't seen this when Mark dropped round, so I told him I was hanging on to a carb or three for Carl....
Ah well, back to Carl's angle grinder...

I'll take some spares to the WS day, one for Mark, one for Carl.
Section Wars- game on.
