Post by budd »

i use stomp grip. just the universal tank kit

you can get clear or black, clear looks good when clean, but hindsight black might have been a better option for me

just ordered some stompgrip from ebay ZX10 kit, I chose the Zx kit because it looks like there's 4 pieces in the kit so I should have some left over, so if anyone needs any let me know

well it's not arrived yet I've only just ordered it off ebay, but I'll definitely post some pics of any surplus, but it won't be till the end of next week as we're off to the Isle of Man tomorrow for easter, I'm having it posted over there so I don't have to wait till me get home to stick it on.

Just make sure to keep it nice and hot with a hairdryer before and during application. Makes it go all soft and you can place it a bit easier, once it's on it's on though!

I measured and masked off each side to give me some sort of reference too, I really wanted them to be the same on both sides! In hindsight, I'd have them a bit lower down, but they're absolutely fine where they are and certainly help under braking.

Enjoy the island!

looks good, I assume you got the universal kit, and had to cut it, I didn’t trust myself to cut it and get the 2 sides to match so I went for the pre-cut ZX kit and hopefully they’ll be something like, but at least both sides will match, good tip warming it up a bit, I’ll also have to make sure I get any polish residue off, I’ve being using Motul silicone cleaner on top of carnauba wax so I had better get that off or it won’t stick at all, come to think of it it’s probably why the tank feels so slippery.
Hopefully we’ll get some decent weather while we’re over it is very hit and miss at this time of year more so in the IOM, if it’s sunny in Ramsey it can be pi$$ing down in Douglas and it likely to be still bitterly cold on top of the mountain, last year it was lovely in Ramsey but by the time I’d got to the veranda it was thick freezing fog so I turned round and went back to sunny Ramsey it was nice and warm in the Trafalgar Arms on the quay
