Re: My latest acquisition...
But will they work on the road with the brake temps being a lot lower ?
Re: My latest acquisition...
yep, they work at cold temps, in the rain; unlike carbon rotors, these do not need heat to work..... These are a ceramic matrix, they do everything steel or iron rotors do, just better, and whole lot lighter. They are said to last just short of forever too. The only thing is that they were bloody expensive back when you could get them (no longer available as company that supplied Braketech no longer does)... I got them used, and they are just expensive....
FWIW, these are 310mm rotors that fit a 2008 GSX-R1000 wheel (hence my query a while back). I will thus need to get a suitable front wheel. I did some checking and the rotor-to-rotor spacing is the same as the VTR wheel, so a set of custom captive spacers should get the wheel to fit. They will likely sit in the box for a while until I buy the wheel and get the spacers tended to, however......
These should drop almost 4 lbs off the front, and give me eye-popping braking
