Fuel consumption on a 98 storm

Just seeing what others get from a tank of gas, i think mine is swallowing the gas and dumping it, This work i use a full tank and only got 136 k,s out of this, so does this sound right or is it due for a bloody good tune up

I get about 30 miles to a gallon. 100 miles to fuel light comes on. It's a 97 storm in red.

First off it helps if you do the conversion for us as Kilometres is not the norm here so means nothing. I just used google and it's around 85miles.

Is that the complete tank or until the reserve light. In all honesty it most likely needs a good tune up as these bike are sensitive to changes. Are you using a standard filter? what exhaust system have you got? it all makes a difference! But it depends on how and where you ride the bike, I have had less than that to a tank and I have had more than that. It varies!

If these bikes ran on alcohol they would be alcoholics, they like a drink. Less mileage at slower speeds in traffic around town than out on an open fast road. The faster and steadier you go the better economy you get sometimes. These bike are weird like that.

You will find peoples fuelling will vary from 80 to 120miles on a small 16L tank.

Anyway this subject has been covered to death and bores me now.

+1 to all the above, the bottom line is they are thirsty with a small tank you learn to live with it.

I get a worse of 10km/L and best of 15.6km/L which translate to 30MPG to 44MPG thats UK Gallons or 25MPG to 36.8MPG in US Gallons.
