Love my mailman :)
especially after he dropped these off yesterday.... new braking bits
A new Galespeed RM 17.5 x 17 forged radial master along with a set of previously enjoyed 310mm Braketech CMC rotors
My plans are to mount up the MC next week (should work well with the Daytona 675 Nissin monoblock calipers I am running, 4x32mm pistons). The rotors wil have to wait a bit as they will require a new front wheel (are 2008 GSX-R1000 units) and some custom spacers and alternate bearings (nothing too complex, but after a winter of hibernation, I would like to ride instead of just wrenching; plus I am hoping to score a good deal at some point on a decent lightweight carbon or forged wheel). I truly can't wait to give these babies a go

j sus they look good do ya have to run special pads as well
where are the calipers from
where are the calipers from
told you not to but oh no you knew better
Re: Love my mailman :)
Calipers are radial Nissin Monoblocks from a 2009 Daytona 675. As for pads, BT recommends running Ferodo XRACs, as the rotors were supposedly designed to work with them. That being said, some have had success running other brands with them.

Re: Love my mailman :)
installed the Galespeed MC today (swapped over the titanium bleeder and banjo from the Brembo), and bled it. It's sitting with a tie-wrapped lever until tomorrow for the final "bleeding". I was unable to ride it today as I have my daughter so the test will come tomorrow..... Looking forward to it.

On a serious note I'm looking forward to some updated pics of your Storm Mik. It's one of the better highly modded bikes out there and those rotors are pure porn

Thanks Carl. Will post pics in the near future. Not sure if the rotors will actually make it onto the bike this summer or not. As I have to mount them up to a (2005-2008) GSX-R1000 front wheel, I may wait until winter to work out all the technical aspects (not to mention finding funds to buy a decent wheel; though I may buy a bent stock item for cheap to get the fitting worked out). Of course, being an OCMD sufferer, I may give in before that that too, lol

Re: Love my mailman :)
Just got in from my first ride with the new master and am very impressed with its operation. To begin with, I am happy with my choice in terms of piston size and leverage ratio (17.5 x 17). The lever pull is light(er) and responsive, with impressive power just a light squeeze away. The action is extremely smooth and progressive, definitely feels better than the OEM Nissins and Brembo that came before it. Granted it's very early on in the relationship, lol, but so far I am very happy with my new Galespeed master.
P.S. Can't wait to try the CMC rotors out .....

Interesting to hear how your first ride-out went with the new Galespeed master cylinder fitted, it sounds like you made a good move
I'm also watching this space to see how long you can resist from fitting the new disc's I realise getting the Suzuki front wheel will be the first move,
Chris.
