Another long time no update...
Had an appointment up at Kings today.
The consultant I saw today, different one from last time & the time before that...
, said that the bone looks healed but...
...the plate looks like it's ''collapsed''...EH?
So much for Ti being strong then...
Anyway he has recommended that the plate comes out & has started the process to organise the slicing session.
Basically in the long term I will suffer with arthritis in the wrist & to help with the pain of that It will have to be fused. To do that the plate would have to come out before the op to fuse takes place. So whip it out now & some time in the future if & when I need the fusing done it could be done in one hit rather than two ops.
Will have to wait a bit for the appointment to come through but it will be done on day surgery & I suppose stitches & a dressing rather than a cast. So at least another week or two sick note to look forward to...

I've run out of gory pics to post of me injuries so instead here's one of a dead rodent...

Re: Latest breaking bones news...
If the plate has collapsed then it's a bad installation
I think fusing it should be your last resort as there's no going back from that and you will have no movement at all. How would you ride a bike! Wait and see how bad the Arthritis is and if you can live with it. They just want to save funds by doing both at the same time
Could they not just remove the plate. Was the plate only in place to hold/support the bones while they bonded/heeled. Maybe its all heeled in the wrong position if the plate collapsed
That may explain while it's so wonkey. I smell negligence either on their behalf or your behalf overdoing things. I'd ask for a second opinion. It don't help if they have different surgeons looking at you each time. Not good news mate

I bet they torqued it up in ft-lb's instead of Nm's...
Fusing bones Mac? Will that restrict the movement in the wrist?
Just think, 2 weeks with nothing to do but sit around and NOT wonk!

Re: Latest breaking bones news...
No they won't be fusing it this time just removing the plate as the bone is healed. The longer it stays in the harder it is to get out as the bone grows around it. With luck the will try a bit of realignment whiles they in in there...
Just got to wait for the appointment to come through...
