Carl, do you do skirting boards?

I have painted numerous amounts of skirting boards over the the years, more than I can remember. I can do a better job with some Eggshell or Gloss, preferably oil based as I don't like the low VOC Acrylics. Saying that they are getting better.I don't like doing skirting boards when the carpet grippers are left in place though Many of times I have caught my knuckles on them.

I can also cut in a nice straight line with a 4 inch brush.



I have a Badger hair brush from my days of using Scumble glazes designed for softening and I could have got rid of all the brush marks, but there was no way I was using it on that paint as it wombles s brushes up. The frame is not perfect but then then I am very self critical. It's acceptable for my first attempt with that product.

I blagged an old desk from the nursery across the road, it'll do for now, it's partly cover and it won't last that long outside, but i'll throw a bike cover over it for now....

and here's a little carbon fibre trinket I was working on, I only did it because I could...

Balanced the carbs on Drooper...

Nicked the front take off spigot to put on Nue Red, dropped it into the bowels of the engine... It went under the top engine bolt, could just see it couldn't get it...So tank & air box off to get the bloody thing. Still whilst stripped down checked TPS, 505 so no adjustment required. Also bunged a 3mm shock spacer in. Got it boxed back up just in time for the heavens to open, thunder & lightening, rain & hail...It had been sunny 10 mins earlier...

Also got all the bodywork back on Drooper, gave it a bit of a polish & took some pics.

Today I made up some fuel lines for the green tank and fitted new green vac pipes :-) test ride tomorrow if it's dry for an hour or two .
Still waiting for the replacement fuel pump to come to test the 19l tank

Today I snapped two exhaust clamps.....ARGH, that will teach me for undoing rusty bits and then trying to tighten them back up. Yes they where the cheaper Miklor with non stainless bolts. I wish there was a better selection of quality exhaust clamps on the motorcycle market in the UK. They seem to have more of a selection in the States but here all we have is Mikalor and they are a rip off. Why is it that all the silly little parts like clamps, gaskets, nuts and bolts etc all cost so much.....rip of bloody Britain.

Replaced the alternator stator. Just as wise minds on here said it was a nice easy job and.....14v+ at the battery. Woo hoo!!!!

removed the starter motor, cleaned it right up and painted it. test fitted some sp2 brake calipers on my blade forks, mmmm more ti loveliness, I might even get around to fitting some of these parts in the future.....

Get the fully stainless Mikalor clamps (manufactured in Barcelona) instead of the ones made with mild steel fittings - why do you think they are a rip off after choosing to fit them instead of OEM Honda/or higher spec Mikalor fully SS version?

why do you think they are a rip off

Because they are only half stainless, if you want fully stainless including the bolt then one has to pay more and their not cheap for what they are. I've seen W5's for £10 + 5 postage for one clamp Plus their sizing is set in such a way that one could measure the circumference of the pipe, order a clamp only to find out after tightening that you need one size smaller or larger and then have to order a different size. Clever marketing in their design that. Or try and tighten them that little extra and risk snapping or threading the bolt been there done that before.

OEM ones will only work with OEM parts not my cans. Best clamps I have ever had where the Micron ones which where supposedly stainless but they eventually rusted. I guess it comes down to the grade of stainless steel, there's different marine grades and they all have different properties, some are more corrosion resistant and some handle high temps better.

Well I tried it with my feet & it wasn't very successful, despite the six toes...

popped over to see the cyberman and dropped off some parts, then I fitted my ohlins reservoir in the correct place, I still need the correct size jubilee clips tho....
finally I decided tp have a clearout and re-organise my shed and parts, god I have to sell some parts....
i'm only half way thru and I needed to stop for a break.....
i'll be posting more in the sales section shortly....

Put the rear back in with the new tyre fitted. Lubed up the chain and rear brgs before putting back together. Washed the drive with the new pressure washer!!! great job.

Now that's better.

I left the inlets as is and only worked un the exhaust port. Valves lapped back in, and now I need to wait on some new valve stem seals. I can then put the springs and everything back together.
