How many KM do most of you have on your bikes and are you, or have you experienced any issues.

But I have got about 6500 miles on the clock

The only problem I have is that my cheeks hurt from grinnig every time I go out amd play on the firestorm.

25,000 miles (40233.6km) on the clock and one failed front cam chain tensioner & leaking water pump seal.

Appart from that it drank a little oil but was fine otherwise.

27,000 miles<43200kms>not a problem

27000 <46500Km> and several issues. the electric regulator (under the back right side of the bike) stop to fonction (if you've got a current terms to say "stop to fonction", giv'it to me please!). My battery get down this winter and the up part of the back shock absorber was broken (may be coz' of stoppies with a passenger). But compared to the fun i have with it, it's nothing!

I was just reffering to the engine with my previous post. You can add to that the following :-

1* Regulator / rectifier unit
1* Battery ( cooked by regulator/rectifier )
2* Front brake disks - both warped. Replaced with EBC prolite disks.
2* full sets of brake pads
1* pair fork springs ( Ohlins - standard ones are crap IMHO)
1* rear shock ( WP - standard one crap)
1* set of braided hoses ( changed as per maintenence schedule )
2* chain and sprocket kits ( even with a scottoiler I managed to snap the chain!!! won't buy Regina again )
5* sets of tyres.
Wheel bearings - front & rear
Head bearings,
swing arm bearings,
all rear suspension linkage bearings ( the linkages had seized so pay special attention to these if you are servicing the bike yourself )

All in just two years of ownership ( 14k miles - 25k miles ). Add to that the cost of dealer servicing to keep up the service record and the costs of having the engine re-built after the cam chain tensioner failed. Let's just say in the two year I had it it cost me a fair whack.

I lost confidence in the bike after the cam chain tensioner went but whoever bought the bike from the dealer that took it off me got a practically new bike!

ah come on now al ,if that had been a ducati people would had said these little problems were down to the machines character
with bikes you have to remember,,
like being a parent, the enjoying parts far exceed the pain of what it costs to own

just wait till something goes BANG a few inches from your manhood and see it that doesn't make you a bit nervous
