Punctured on the way home from an impromptu solstice trip to Henge and camping at The Bruce Arms, Pewsey. Bike now wearing a lovely new pair of Michelin PR3s.

Use a squirt of brake cleaner. (WD40 sparingly if no brake cleaner to hand, but be very careful not to get it on the discs of course!)
If you have used WD give the disc a good clean when finished with a petrol soaked rag to make sure there is no oil contamination on the disc.

* Washers are optional depending on size of bolt used.
DON'T use WD40, any that stays in the bobbins will be flung out onto the disc face. Apart from losing brakes, it will soak into the pads.....

Also don't use chrome cleaner on discs, and don't dry the guinea pig in a microwave.

The idea of putting a washer under the spark plug, to leave less plug in the cylinder head, therefore leaving more room for lovely petrol and air, is also doomed to failure.

(sigh) all the best ideas aren't as good as they seem, while under the influence.
:whatever
i have always checked my brake disc bobbins with a large easy out and some GT85. Spray, and just turn anticlockwise etc, wipe off excess and then turn the easy out clockwise, and they just come out! frees them up a treat, esp done if I've not ridden much during the winter.

I've got a ZX10 Master cylinder on my bike. When I was on the Isle of Man the bracket which came with it broke, so I made a new one.

I went a bit overboard to be honest. Made it out of 2mm steel and welded in a gusset to make sure it doesn't break again :p.

Took the belly pan and the hugger off, cleaned all beneath, and then put them back on, cleaned the chain and drive assembly, lubed it back up, polished the foot guards and rear shock. Cleaned all behind the dash and instruments etc and then polished the whole bike. Its looking peachy!

Cleared all my tools etc ready for my move ( soon i hope) Run the bike up and then wished id gone out on it rather than clean it!!!.Image

that would look nice, but it probably wouldn't make a difference to my riding being an old, blind git with limited peripheral vision, but i also like your forks!!!

Trip down to Brands to watch Tony gentle circulate the Indi Circuit ...yeah right...

Here's some poor pics of him tootling up the pit straight.

Crapola pics taken with crapola cam on phone, you'll have to excuse the framing as I couldn't see the screen due to the glare.

Tony did look a bit sweaty when he came back in so he must of been trying...a bit like his jokes, trying...

Came up with the usual ''racers excuses'' ...Oil down at Druids, The Asian Girl on the Blade got in my way, The brake lever is coming back to the bar...

All of which are actually true...

Still he hadn't fallen off by the time I left which is a good thing.

His daughter did take some much better pics which I'm sure he'll post up later...
