Updated the title as i will be going again on 28th

Got a pass out so am planning a progressive ride out to Crossgates and Newtown.

Likely be an early start to avoid the traffic... 7.30.0, 8 at the latest.

Cracking ride and glad I didn't leave too late as the traffic was building up even when I set off.

Got caught up in a triathlon bike event so spent 30 miles taking it gentle as there was a pushbike round very corner, or a car waiting to overtake a pushbike.... Mind you some of the women competitors had nice tight buns :D

Did my normal loops of a and B roads and caught up with an R1 (model before the under seat exhausts) that I had already seen at my 1st petrol stop in Leominster, so I played with him on the Crossgates to Newtown road, he let me go past and when he saw I was not plod he then followed. I was setting my 85% pace for the corners and not going wild down the straights and he upped his speed and tagged on and we rode like that for 20miles. I could see the smile on his face when I turned off the road... I think we both enjoyed it

Then had a stop for petrol and food at Crossgates, a good few bikes but not mobbed.

Here are some of the better looking ones

There was also a Panagali S and a normal one, and a BMW HP4 in a baby blue colour that looked all wrong?

There was a slim tanned blonde girl sat with a group of lads in leathers but she only had jeans on and I was thinking to my self that her boyfriend must be an idiot taking her out on the back of his bike without leathers on, but didn't think much more about it till I was kitting up to leave..... She rides past me on a matt black KTM super duke ( not the new one), but still with only a textile jacket on and jeans. 8O
She is with a lad in full leathers on a GSXR1000 and another bloke also in leathers on a newer KTM super duke. So I head back towards home on the A44 following them and she is not slow, but is a bit cautious in the tight shellgrip bends, so I get past the 2 KTMs and go to follow the GSXR .

Through a village and when we hit the nationals me and the GSXR have a mono wheeling contest then set of at a sporty pace for the next 15 miles. Traffic is building up and I am thinking its time to stop playing, then I spot the reason...... There is a police X5 10 cars infront of us, so I pull over and so does GSXR boy,

when his mates turn up, the girl gets off her bike and I see she has a blood stained dressing on her knee and her jeans are torn..... She had already low sided in the morning on HER GSXR and was riding home on the lads KTM as it was easier riding position for her knee!!
Now I am all in favour of girls riding bikes, and she could clearly handle a bike, but why the feck go out with the lads playing and not wear leather :(

And also the lad on the GSXR although in full leathers only had MX gloves on...... Is it just a sign of my age or have I become a heath and safety inspector..... Where is my high vis pipe and slippers.

Anyway it was a fun ride out and many flys were sacrificed on the flying banana

Sounds like a cracking day out.

Some people spend all their money on a bike and dont seem to be able to afford leathers. Hard to believe anyone would do a full day ride in jeans. Risky business.

Cant wait for those roads in Sept with you again Alistair :-)

Was at Crossgates a bit later today as I did some extra routes before heading back there.... I would say there were double the number of bikes than last week, but still not packed out.

Didn't get playing with anyone this time, but still had some good clear runs at the best bends.

Here are the 3 nicest bikes from the Crossgates car park

Spotted this tidy fast yellow storm.... Anyone on here?

optical illusion.......there is a good clearance and should also work with the braced swing arm that still needs finished.

bike is running very strong with those pipes, I will be interested to see what the dyno says compared to last set up.
