Also is 500 ml of oil every 120 miles usual?

Depends if it's a firestorm or an 09 fireblade...

Pulled well ran well just used oil like a two stroke .
As long as you know it uses it and you keep it topped up it's fine
1/2 litre for every tank full of juice, i think thats far too much.i,d be worried if it was mine.

I read up on oil usage on here and I would be worried if I owned any of your bikes  non of my storms drank oil.

My Honda X 11 had its oil changed from last September, not only did 3.9 litres come out but it came out with a red tint of the original colour.

I had this chat with tony at brands, and we agreed that if you ride hard and redline a storm, it will use oil, if you potter around it won't, iirc when I sold the bike to banana man, aka dave, I told him at the time that its drinking oil and I discounted the price accordingly, the oil usage was varied tho, sometimes it would, sometimes it wouldn't.
as lloydie said, as long as you keep it topped up it will be ok, blimey I remember lloydies bike at the Birmingham dyno day, I came out off the garage with a film off oil all over me...
but his bike was giving out some really good figures at the rear wheel.
just keep an eye on it dave....

Ive just checked and topped mine up, its done 2111 miles since the last oil change/service and I've pull just short of a cupful in it.( tea mug cup etc) Iam happy with that.

Our engines at work (3000 bhp and a V20 with 1200 lts of oil capacity) use about 2-300 litres a month but run 24/7 and they run at 98% flat out.

our oil bill a year for all sites is close to 1Mill a year.

No worries mate, yes you did tell me, I don't have a problem with it at all, actually it's quite reassuring to know she's always running on fresh oil!

Mine uses a fair amount of oil but then it has an oil leak so I shouldn't be surprised! I am ignoring it and hope it will heal itself like a cut on a finger.
