You can use another cap, use engineers blue & use a half round scraper.

come on Carl you know! It was that blue paste stuff you wiped over bearings, posts, basically anything that you could then assemble and see where it rubbed etc. I made Big end bearings as an apprentice and used scalers and we all had a blue finger! Plasitigaige has sort of taken over now. You also used it on tools made for lathes etc to see if they were square etc.

Oh yeh I know the stuff your talking about now. School metalwork classes would have been the last time I saw/used that stuff, so a very long time ago now :lol:
