might be able to get my old bike back

Post by popkat »

There's a possibility my old 2000 model firestorm is going to be for sale, It's been with the same owner since I sold it and I had it new.
It's done probably 25-30,000 miles now, and in good condition, it's not been used much on the last 8 or 9 years but has been looked after.
Has Ohlins shock and uprated fork springs, Arrow pipes, k&n and dynojet kit.

I'd like it back but if I did it would have to be a keeper this time, the short tank range always annoyed me but I'd have to live with that. I have no idea of price i'll have to wait and see what they want for it IF it becomes available. Also need to find money from somewhere, I'd have to sell some other stuff to fund it.

I have a thundercat for sale at £1600 ovno so if anyones interested let me know, I can't use all that money but some of it could go towards the storm, it'd be a start.
I could also sell one of my VFR's, need a little work but good solid bike. also have an old GSX750 (cheap) that would make a good project, I'd need money and space if this bike becomes available.

Never lost the buzz for them, although they're not the best bike I've owned I do like them, only sold my last one because I needed the money or I'd still have it, my situation hasn't really changed so money would still be an issue, if it comes up cheap enough then I might be able to afford it when I sell a few things, will have to wait and see.
Now it's been mentioned though I quite excited about the prospect of having it back. this bike I bought new in 2000 ran it in by despatch riding it (wasn't my despatch bike though) took it to LeMans, raced it at Brands Hatch and Lydden, getting 5 wins out of 10 races and a race speed record at Lydden, and took it on holiday with me around the southwest for a couple of weeks (before I lived here).
I'd had a ride on a speed triple and was Impressed so I bought it but only had it briefly as I replaced that with an RSVR. The timing was right as a friend was interested in the Storm.
It would be nice to have it back as I did so much on it in a short space of time.

Bob......whoops I mean Malc

Impressive wins there at Lydden, and impressive things you did on your old bike in such a short time
Good luck in getting the bike back,

Chris.
