Oil question

This oil has become available at a very reputable local motor factors just miles from me
10w~40w semi synthetic suitable for all petrol/ diesel tubo or normal engines.. 5 litres
spec is.. API SL/CF, ACEA A3, B3, B could this be suitable for the VTR engine 2001F
retails at £13.00 ... free delivery ... but I would collect of course

Oil is your engines blood, why compromise for the sake of a few quid, £25 should get you a good bike specific semi syth oil. Just my opinion.

I agree with bob, I mean malc, I mean popkat.
I've used Halfords cheapo, then motul, now for £30ish I use mobil. next i'm going to try Castrol.....http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/130877749451? ... 1423.l2649

Why oh why do people try to save a few quid skimping on the most important thing in prolonging engine life :? . My opinion only!

For me car engine oil is usually used in lower revving engines than bikes, so would it stand up to being worked harder :?: Perhaps the ratings for it say it would.
Personally (as others have said) I would rather stick with oil designed for bikes, only my opinion I know.

As I understand oil is just the product used to carry the additives around your engine, the additives being what actually protects your engine. If less money is used in producing the final product, so it can be sold cheaper, then surely less additives are in a cheaper oil. Perhaps I'm talking garbage :eh:
