Bar conversion
Bar conversion
I know this has been covered before but need to do mine very soon as my wrists are not coping with the clip ons very well.
I did this on my last vtr but I went mad with a double bolted and welded set of angled risers.
Just wondering what people are using I.e single bolt, double bolt complete conversion.
I am on a bit of a budget due to my impending Ktm 520 engine rebuild.
Pics would be great aswell.
Cheers

a landrover d2 and a ktm, i had to have a honda to restore relability in my life.
Re: Bar conversion
My solution to the sore wrist is Later model (Black) Storm Clip ons which have a 7 degree more rise. That along with a HRC Quick Action Throttle is a vast improvement. It also does not compromise the fairing or require longer brake lines.

New, Taller Handlebars
To provide a more relaxed riding po- sition for increased handling freedom and more comfortable long-distance riding, the Firestorm’s clip-on style handlebars were raised by 15.6mm and angled upward approximately
7 degrees for a slightly more upright posture that lends itself better to long hours on the road.

Re: Bar conversion
i used a single bolt angled riser keeping it lower than 1" rise and rental ultra low rise

Re: Bar conversion
I've had later model clipons and now bar risers also. Thinking about Renthals if I want to keep the bike. Don't think my Harris rearsets help even on lowest setting.

Re: Bar conversion
i bought the full Topyoke and Renthals etc, i fitted the kit myself and it was pretty straightforward. I can't praise this mod enough its fantastic and allows me to keep riding. I did do nearly 560 miles the other week on the Stag run do and it was fine. Iam almost 56 and could not do that with the normal bars. you do need to do the fairing trim but i took my time and it looks great. I will post some pics.
missing the noise, not the vibes. However never say never!

cost was about £220 with all the gear, brake lines and grips and bar ends. I ordered all the gear from Moore Speed Racing

Good job done Bigtwinthing. I have the added problem of removing the left hand heated grip, but will get round that.

These are similar to my bars and you can have them how ever you like

I have 2" angled risers that I can have facing forward or back and with both of these fitted the adjustment is endless .
Its now in race mode clip ons but when touring I set them up as high bars

My solution to sore wrists is...don't smash the feck out of it in the first place...
However the F2 bars are deff better then the old ones, riding then back to back you notice the difference.
I would also big up the QAT as Carl said + I use a Scotoiler Cramp Buster...http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Scottoiler-Mo ... 20de38e5de
Takes a bit to get used to but once you do marvellous idea...
