alright mate, havent been on in a while so havent seen this message. you can use a polishing kit but it will take you all year, keep the polishing kit for the final touches. what you need is wet and dry and lots of it. im not sure how much protection is on the swingarm but i done my frame and it was a nightmare to get the layer of protective paint off.
regarding getting it polished you need to start with wet and dry, you will need all these grades to get a mirror finish:
80
120
240
400
800
1200
1500
2000
i made the mistake of buying it from halfords and it cost me twice as much as if i bought it from my local DIY store. as i have written them above start from 80 and sand the frame down till you have a nice base to work off, then its just a case of slowly working your way up through the grades getting a better finish each time. after you get past 240 grade though every grade after must be used wet so from 400 onwards make sure the paper is always wetwiping the surface down regurarly.
once you have got to 2000 and have got a finish you were after you will need to use auotsol on it, that will bring the frame up so its absolutely sparkling, TBH a polishing kit isnt really nessacery but if you feel the finish off the 2000 grit paper isnt enough (but trust me it will be) then use the polishing kit.
heres a couple of pics of mine from start to finish:
