My bees are doing wonders for my runners, and I must have killed a few thousand wasps today!
Re: FAO Grumpfrog...
So where do Hornets fit in? I like Bee's. Did you know that a human can survive on Honey alone. Apparently it contains all the nutrients etc that we need to survive on.

Hornets are really chilled, only sting as a last resort. Just a bit intimidating due to their size
Re: FAO Grumpfrog...
I was shocked at the size of the first Hornet I saw. It was the size of my Thumb Me and my friend where sitting downstairs and all of a sudden we hear her young daughter screaming out from the bedroom "mummy mummy" We went runing up there and there it was sitting on the window. So what do I hear next "Carl Carl get it get it out" So and empty glass and a piece of paper later I got it out. It turned out the neighbours a few doors down had a nest.
Do you have some hives then Shifty. Those bees need a helping hand at the moment.

Small wasp nest I got called out to a couple of years ago...Yes that is a roof joist...
It was dormant, wasps don't reuse nests...
Wimpy plumbers were doing some work & shat themselves when they saw it & wouldn't go in the loft...
