Michelin Pilot Power

Just off the phone to the dealer, was going to get Diablos put on the bike but he cant get them, he suggested the Michelins.

I have read very good things about them, anyone tried them on the Storm?

If so what mileage do you get, and whats the wet weather performance like?

what price are they going to charge you for the pleasure of fitting them for you, dealers can be way expensive.

not tried them myself, stuck with BT 020 rear and 014 front, i'm happy with them.

Part of the deal when i bought the bike.

So nothing is the answer to your question i guess.

according to this months superbike magazine the 5 best new road tyres tyres are:
michelin pilot power
avon viper sport
continental sport attack
dunlop qualifier
metzler sportec m3

all worth a look imo but i recvkon im going to be trying the conti sport attacks next. had good ratings and the tread layout seems to be the the best with more grooves yet thinner which i reckon will make for better grip

I've got Pilot Powers on mine. Used to run the 020 & 012S until someone recommended them. Now on about my 3rd set. Wouldn't use anything else. They're fantastic. Warm up quickly & stick beautifully. It was pouring down with rain when I first had them put on, I rode out of the shop & they felt great straight away. I've never had a better tyre in the wet.

Have I raved enough? They're fast becoming one of the most popular tyres over here. I haven't heard a bad word from anyone who's tried them. I guarantee you won't be sorry.

I don't pay much attention to mileage for my tyres, but probably around 8,000 kms, and that would be with fairly hard riding. If you can be bothered doing a search on OzFireStorm.com, you'll find heaps of happy customers (and probably a more accurate idea about how long they'll last).

Oh, and I know one fella who runs Pilot Power on the back & a Pilot Sports on the front.

Thanks good to know, i had it in my mind that the Diablos were the best tyres out there, but the dealer assured me that the Pilot Powers were just as good and prbably better. The Ducati 999 is now coming with them as standard so i suppose there is no better recomendation.

I'm running pilot sports... i know i know a bit different but i can definatly recommend the mich's. I've also got em on my GSXR are and it just sticks to the ground.

One thing we can't change is the weather, well not yet anyway

I do remember somewhere in America once where clouds appeared overhead at some special event, as they definitely did not want any rain spoiling the day, they managed somehow to blow the clouds away from that area

I have pilot powers fantastic used have dragon evos never felt confident on these, pilots have much more grip warm up quick only road in the rain a couple of times but felt really good still alan
