my boy has just brought a 14 plate cbr 125r and it is a cat D
my question is can you get the category removed

I don't think so, I think it's there for the life of the bike, but I could be wrong. Someone with more knowledge will be along soon and let you know for sure

No cannot be removed mate. Hence lower value of cat C & D motors!

does not seem right to right a bike off with so little damage
but i think it was the right money £1500, was being riden by a boy my boy rides with but it has done 7000 miles
since march 8O

cat d means very little these days, but it will effect the value of the bike, not sure it effects the insurance tho, I doubt it will.

You used to be able to get it inspected by I think the dvla and then when you hpi the vehicle or bike it would show up condition inspected rather than insurance write off but there was no point going to the cost because it just moved it from one to another
