Tank size by year?

Need an advice.
Des anybody know absolutely for sure as of which year Firestorm got 19 liter tank in Europe/UK? I got one of ebay, now I need to kind of confirm to myself that it really is 19 liter, since it looks so similar and I am paranoid about wasting money painting it to match bike :)

2001/2 but don't quote me on that , mine is an 02 and has the bigger tank.

fill it up if you have something big to drain it back into.

Cheers! That's reassuring - I can put my mind at rest now :)
Tank I got - from 2003 model....so most probably I really got 19 L. OK :)
Tank is metallic blue, and paint is perfect. Bike is yellow. Now a dillema - leave it blue and resemble colors of flag of my country :lol:

2001 model has the 19L tank as well. Pretty sure 2000 was the last 16L.
If you ate yourself would you become twice as big or simply disappear?

it's not a cheap as you may find in UK, but for Western Europe it's cheap - came out at 100 Euros (70 pounds?) with delivery from France, in perfect state but no fuel tap.
I half-installed it yesterday, it is straight swap except fuel tap and fuel hoses.
Now problem is that I am still missing fuel tap - I can't find partnumber of fuel type of new model to check at breakers for second-hand one...any advice on how to fin partnumber will be appreciated :)

I don't know if this is going to be any help to you Bluesman, but may be, it says 98-2005 and there are two different part numbers there. In the column on the left number (2) petcock assy, clicking on the part number will give you a price 8O , perhaps an email to them would help :!:

Thanks! I actually managed to find p/n ( by looking at source HTML file in French online shop :))))

Ronayers have only "old type" petcock because it is for US model, and in US tank did not change....

Price is horruble thou...150 USD....not sure I can live with it :( probably will adapt some eBay item instead as usual :)

Looks like it's official - after all searches and enquires cheapest place to get fuel tap and so on is Honda dealer in Belgium.
Price difference is huge. "Petcock assembly" is almost 50 Euros cheaper than in France and UK. Filter - 10 Euros cheaper. And with delivery in 24 hours....

So, I went for it.
I will be selling my VFR800VTEC tank (Storm-adaptable model) and I think I will have to sell original tank to recover costs :(

I didn't think the 19ltr tank would fit with the standard airbox to the 16ltr model :!: Please tell me more :!:

IMHO this is popular mistake that additional volume gained by making airbox smaller - it is not true, at least not for european bikes. My airbox completely same

Tank just fits right in place, nothing to change at all. Looks like additional volume gained by making rear of tank a bit steeper, top a bit higher, a bit more there and there - and here you have 3 morel liters. Also some addtional volume comes by making rear of tank a bit deeper (hence different fuel tap).

All you need is post 2001 tank and post-2001 fuel tap and filter. And this is what burned my pocket :) because new fuel and tap from Honda cost about 150 Euros.

I took cap and sensor from my old tank and it fits new tank perfectly.
