Stick around on the forum bud![]()
(:-})and the new arrival isn't a RC8 much as I'd like one they are more than I want to spend nor is it a Ducati, there is only one bike the fits the bill 1000cc twin, Ohlins and available for well under a £2K

Finally got around to fitting a Scottoiler. All I need to do now is work out an appropriate flow rate.
Decided to put it on the right hand side by the R/R

Conveniently connected the vacuum to my carb balance vacuum. Kill two birds with one stone and not have it dripping away while the bike is idling away when balancing the carbs.

Ran the oil feed across to the other side.

And decided to feed the front sprocket rather than rear. No mess at the rear and a lot tidier to run without it running along the swingarm where it can get caught by the chain and be effected more by the bottom exhaust link.

tidy job carlos......
went for a ride to see the jackal, lovin the rogered forks, just need to get them set up properly.
I did notice some clonking, which I put down to the new head race bearings, when I got home I found all 4 caliper mounting bolts were loose........
that would be the clonking then....
time to break out the torque wrench.....
I also need the jackals help with my carbs, as low speed riding isn't easy atm, the fuelling just isn't right.
I also fitted some new renthal hard grips, bought them from busters for £6.75, delivered within 2 days.
easy enough to fit and feel really good, i'm well pleased with them.

Do you want me to bring my carb screwdriver around tomorrow then. If you strip the bike down I will also move your needles too.

got my new shock fitted tonight greased the linkages while I was there.swinging arm is coming off for a cleanup over winter,i should have measured shock lengh over standard as the 6 mm spacer I was running is now redundant as bottom link was touching the pipe with it fitted.should be an interesting ride tomorrow.time for a beer

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today
painted the belly pan in yellow last night - pleased with the finish but the colour is completely different!
the can i got says y124p 1997 i hadn't realised they were year specific, mine's a 1998 - is the colour that different between the 2 years? (i think i know the answer to that question).
1997 is yellow yellow mine is more yellow orange.
will it go more orange with the lacquer on?
glad i didn't try to use it to blend something with the original colour!
i might have a go at putting a scottoiler on too - thanks for the pics, Carl

Yep there are two completely different Yellows. There's the bright Yellow looks a bit like a Daffodil and loves fly's (see AP's bike) and then there is the Mustard Yellow like yours which is very slow.
And no paint doesn't change colour unless it's magic paint. I should have mentioned that there may be a sticker on the inside of the rear subfame that will tell you the colour code.

Note you may have a coil in the way where I put mine. I have removed my standard coils and replaced with stick coils or should I say Coil On Plug.i might have a go at putting a scottoiler on too - thanks for the pics, Carl

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today
have you considered that your bike might have had a full respray in the past, and it isn't the same yellow, or that it's a pearlescent paint that's almost impossible to match, or even that the old paint has faded slightly, again making it super difficult to match, I hope you can do something with it buddymarkbo wrote:painted the belly pan in yellow last night - pleased with the finish but the colour is completely different!

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today
yeah i found the colour code sticker - y124p - so if i get the 1998 is that the mustard yellow?
i don't know if it's had a respray in the past, is there anyway i could tell?

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today
looking at the avatars AP's bike is the colour i've got in this can
i think you've got confused about mustard being slow - the expression is "fast as mustard" or is that custard?, i don't know, the paint fumes seem to have addled my brain!

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today
If you look at the rspaints link I posted over in Sirches hugger repaint thread you can see the colours by year there.
