Carbon fibre clock cover, sits between the screen and clocks

And these R&G tank grips, smooth but very grippy apprantly, will get a good test on the Mallory track day

Well today has been very busy.
With the up coming track days I thought I would have a go at turning my bars upseide down and back to front to see if I could get them lower so I could rest my elbow on the tank. Unfortunately this didn't work so I started putting it back together and then thought I would phone aprilia proformance in Tamworth (they set up the rsvr forum and very top blokes) about the issues with my tyres not warming. He gave me a few tweeks to make to the front end which included raising the front slightly and setting the suspension slightly harder. As well as setting compression and rebound. Then I found I could rest my arm and elbow on the tank and I stared to get rather excitedthis is when I got my tinkering head on.....
I remember I had some throttle body rubbers to fit as the original ones were splitting so I lifted the tank for the first time, removed the airbox and carbs and replace the rubbers. Then I thought about removing the throttle return cable, so I did. I then built up under the tank and went to start rebuilding the bars when I had another thought........
Quick action throttle, so I made one using the standard throttle tube, cable ties and super glue, and it works a treat. Cut down the travel to fully open throttle by at least 30% if not more.
Then I tried hanging off the bike as if I was getting my knee down, elbow and shoulders well if the bike and then found the mirrors were in the way that's all I could see, not any use when trying to go round corners so guess what...... There gone now too.
Oh and I managed to figure out a way of getting the bike up using the abba without any assistance.
Overall a rather suscessful day I think
They'll do I suppose as you've been busyCkennedy wrote:No but I have buckets
Bar end mirrors?Ckennedy wrote:That was my biggest fear when I opened it up a bit. Had one popped out of a junction and decided to follow me? Had one been behind me for a while and I didn't know?
I was thinking about a backwards facing camera but it's mounting the screen somewhere that's the problem. The dash is hard enough to see with the Sat nav on there let alone another screen. Maybe one of those helmets with the built in mirror? Who knows, something to think about
Ckennedy wrote:Problem with bar end mirrors is that is makes the bike even wider and that would be an issue when filtering. Problems, problems....
That rider is a butter and could do with teaching me a few tricks ;)
Get your nails cutCkennedy wrote:Day before yesterday I received my first bit of bling for the bike, a carbon clock cover.
Tried fitting it yesterday, got the screen off and 3 out of 4 bolt in the origional cover which go into the ali subframe. The 4th one didn't want to come out at allit was seized solid and to make matter worse rounded off too
so after a while trying I gave up before breaking something.
This morning I didn't the unthinkable, I heated up said ali subframe and removed the bolt  but I think it was worth it.....
Now I am thinking of redoing the decals over winter, there's no lacquer over the top so they will come off pretty easy. I'm thinking of doing them in carbon, what do people reckon?
