Done nothing today, but spent a few quid on eBay

Ha ha ha , what's the point in painting them ? As amcq once wrote "it I drop it just buy that side in any colour and it will look the same " ,
I was tempered to paint them to be honest but as most of the body work was given to my by very nice members of this fine forum if thought it'll be nice when piggy is done those members could at least say they had there part to play Init and could see there bits flying round the track at warp speed :-)

I ran with pilot power 2ct's this summer, cost £210 fitted to loose wheels, fantastic tyre, sh1t loads of grip, the only downside was only 3.000 miles and the rear is well and truly on it's way out, next tyre will be a harder wearing one, I might go for the older pr2, i'm still hearing good things about them and they're a fair bit cheaper than the 3's or 4's.Richy85 wrote: Also going to order some sticky black circles too at some point... Yeah I kind of want to give the powers a go, but I will be doing a fair few miles so I don't really fancy splashing out on a tyre that will only last a month or less!
I used to run bridgestone bt 45's on my last bike and swore by them but they stopped making them in the size I wanted and had to go onto bt021's which were utterly horrendous and have dented my opinion of bridgestone's at the moment.
I'm pretty much a dry weather rider so don't need to worry about wet weather grip so can focus on just getting a lovely set of super sticker rubber.
I have a Shogun for when its wet and miserable... with a lovely heater that can melt the skin off your face as well as a sumptuous leather heated seat

Yeah, I'm a girl. To be fair though, I've done my fair share of riding in the pissing rain and cold when a bike was my only form of transport and I don't care what anyone says... It's wombles sh1t.

i've heard good things about conti road attacks, sometimes it's best to speak to your local tyre shop, but you need to find one you can trust, and who won't try and flog you a tyre just because they've bought a job lot of them...

To be honest the road 2s are great tyres you don't need to go "sticky"
They grip well enough to drag your knee after 5 minutes of riding (I've done it) and they last well too

+1 on that, I tried the Pilot power and the Pilot road and I couldn't go any faster on the Pilot Power tyres, but they took longer to warm up and had lower life as well as being less confidence inspiring in cold or damp conditions. once I put my ego in the cupboard and looked past the Sport vs Sport Touring titles, the PR2's have been my default tyre..... only trackday use on a storm [on a warm day] will take them out of their comfort zonelloydie wrote:To be honest the road 2s are great tyres you don't need to go "sticky"

been renovating a renntec rack that i got cheap on t'bay - used p38 for the first time ever, dunno why they say about sanding it down, i found if you put exactly the right amount on in exactly the right place and smooth it down exactly right as you do it, it's perfect first time ?!?
i didn't realise buying a bike would give the same workout as going to a gym!

OK, so yesterday eve I got back to the bike and immediately realised that the rear 2 cam cover bolts on the front cylinder were loose. Tightened them up and started reassembling, all going spiffingly well until I'd finished the air box and realised I'd forgotten to fit the plastic bit under the front carb that fills the space in the front of the frame (the one AP said on Sat that people tend to forget!). So I had to do it all again, knocking off for the day once I'd finished the air box again. About to get back to work & feeling pretty confident now that I can finish this myself and that it will probably be ok once I have, but I could have forgotten something else, pinched a crucial tube or something. My Mk III wire tool in leiu of a magnetic screwdriver worked a treat- Just some stiff wire with 2 90 degree bends in one end which I used to hold the screw on the end of the screwdriver as I put the front 2 screws into the airbox. I'll report back...

I just dunk the screw driver in grease then put the screw on it. Im using PR2s. Great tyre, Ran them at a hot track day over the weekend. Once you get the pressure right they are fine. Arghh, put tank & silencer back on & she started, but only idling on full choke, no real power. And conked out after a while. Doesn't want to start at all now. Currently am scratching my head but don't think it's nits. Any ideas? (For clarifiocation: About the bike, not the itch!)
