Without reading all the posts I'd say Kev hit the nail on the head. Don't rush into to something you may regret later mate.

Kermit is far to good to track Lloydie, ask for money/ parts for Crimbo mate and the pig will fly

Miztaziggy say it all.

I do 2-3 track days per year on my bike, so just add some comments.

- I enloy riding on street with skills gained on track, I also calm down on street.
- track is not safe place. There is lower change for fatal accident, but much higher chance for serious injury, as you are trying to go to the edge, and so the others.
- storm is fun bike, not track bike. At least is not competetive, there is no suitable class in club races.
- lot of track riding, obviously, lot of money. Cost of the bike itslelf is about 1/3 of total costs.

I did in total 9 full track days, and never fell down, and realized that I am not more than average rider, chasing good times with track bike would be probably waste of money for me. I just use good allround tires like Sporsmart, Mich PiPo3, currently Metz M7RR, and ride in adequate safe pace.

Most important for track is rider, so I wouldn´t stand for perfect track VTR1000F bike. Just sort suspension and fairing on track bike and the rest could be finished later.

How dose this sound ?

Finish the track engine (nearly done )
Build up piggy and take the extra bits I need from kermit and put a day time mot on piggy for them sunday rides and opp storms .

Then as and when swap the bits back onto kermit Id taken off when I've got the funds .
It'll only be wheels and forks /shock and a few little bits , I do have them bits but they either need service or repair ,so I could do them when ever so it won't be like fully stripping kermit and kermit be kept restively intact ,

I could never bring myself to part with kermit and to be honest kermit does have a few piggy parts on it for testing and I still have a few things to test on it before winter .

This way I can keep both but just run piggy till the urge returns to road riding then bring kermit out of hibernation .
That sounds like a possible option to me Lloydie.
As others have suggested, don't make a rushed decision.

Some very good replies here

Chris.
