Cheap levers on eBay. Anyone bought them?

Post by freeridenick »

Having just replaced a bent brake lever it turns out the bush on my clutch lever is screwed. I could just get a OEM one, but I like the thought of something a bit racier.

There are a whole load of brake and clutch lever sets on fleeBay for between £15 and £20. They look OK, but based on the principal of 'you get what you pay for' I'm assuming they're crap. Anyone got any evidence to the contrary?

I bought some cheapo Chinese adjustable levers when I bought the bike back in 2010 and have run them since with no ill effect. I know there have been tales of problems but I've not had any agg.

Three sets to date. Fit fine, work fine and look neater than stock. No issues whatsoever.

Just fitted mine yesterday, bought the longer type (about the same length as stock)
Fitted no problems and actually feel better with the dogleg shape.
Only problem was took nearly 2 weeks to arrive !!

Ordered a set and they arrived Wednesday. Took about a week and a half to arrive.

Quite impressed for the price. Some of the edges are a tiny bit sharp, but nothing that my fingers will touch. The finish looks OK too, but there's not bush in hole where the pivot bolt goes. I assume I don't need to fit one (haven't had change to check yet) and a small about of grease on the bolt is all I need.

Thanks for all the feedback.
