new exhaust downpipes .. where to get ?

Post by Geordie »

Hello stormers
just a quick ask .. I want to replace my shagged downpipes with something newer and cleaner flowing internally .. Hondas originals are shite tbh .. lol
Anybody bought from sandys bike spares on here ? Any goos ? .. mate of mine has a set of theirs on his thunderace fits well ..
I was going to get a custom job done standard sizes and fit as not too upset the fueling ..
any other sources ? ..
Cheers

Sandy bikes stopped making them. Shame really as they where the only pattern headers about. There's a firm in Germany making header for out bikes on eBay. I came across them a couple of weeks ago. I shall see If I can find the link later.

german ones listed below.
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?LinkId=255141
sandy bike spares headers are listed as 304 grade stainless, no mention of what the german ones are, they don't look as shiny as the sandy ones.

If I brought new headers Id have them chromed before fitting as that way they will always stay nice and shiny

not much use but i got a set of headers from them for a zx7r i had. really well made and fitted perfect but they caused a hole the size of the grand canyon on the 7r but the kawa is super touchy about header design.
the older i get,the faster i was

I bought a set a few yrs back, good quality but the fit is sh1t, had to use spacers to make the cans fit as the pipes were slightly out compared to the originals, I still have them on my bike but not 100per cent happy

Would really prefer a custom set made to fit everything else just as it is rather than have to bend and force it all together .. did the collars fit into the cylinder heads accurately ?
Has anybody had a custom set made ?

it can't be cheap getting a set made, but other than originals or the pattern part, you don't have many options, second hand systems are really hard to find these days.... :(

Aye .. only other aftermarket make id been told was delkovic but cant see any listed with them. Think ill buy a set from sandys and if the fit is too far out could always get them modified slightly to fit better ..
