Which Reg/rectifier
Which Reg/rectifier
So ill do the Reg/Rect mod over the winter.
im looking at a used, genuine Yam R1 or R6 item.
Which R/R did you use?
As there aren't that many used R1/6 R/R on the Bay, just avoidable cheap ones
It would help if I had a choice, or has anybody got a spare one?

It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

Re: Which Reg/rectifier
Yamaha FJR1200 R/R us the same model as the R1 - Shindengen FH020AA
I replaced the 2nd failed unit on my Monster with a Shindengen FH020AA along with uprated wiring straight back to the battery through a 30A fuse. That and along with sorting out the main earth connection on the bike has made a huge difference to starting and running.
I have a 2nd R/R unit so plan to do the same with the Falco over the winter.

It will work Kev but is not a Mosfet type so still prone to the old issue of going kaput...kev64 wrote:And does it work ok?templ8 wrote:Old thread I know, but i have a cbr125 reg/rec like this one

I've got two from BMW S1000R...(I paid less than £50 for each of mine, but I have seen them for £130 + ! )
Have a search around. Try Triumph Reg/Rec & see what comes up. Your looking for any R/R with two plugs.
BTW most of them are probably made in China anyway even the BMW ones...

Re: Which Reg/rectifier
So far so good, had it on 2 years. It may not be a most but unlike the vtr rectumfryer it's in a finned aluminium case to dissipate the heat.kev64 wrote:And does it work ok?templ8 wrote:Old thread I know, but i have a cbr125 reg/rec like this one

Re: Which Reg/rectifier
Thanks for the links mac, now i get the idea, will keep looking
So temp, you had a CB125 reg/rect on for two years? and alls ok?
So ive had another read on reg/rect on this forum and the Hawk forum,,
Still not sure its worth paying extra for a used Reg/rect with mosfets as all used parts could fail
suppose they have a chance of lasting longer though
As i said ill keep looking, dont really wanna pay much more than £30 though !!

Re: Which Reg/rectifier
Might even just get an OEM part, (finned) i take it this would do
