Paint codes

Post by Miztaziggy »

Ok, so this isn't a VTR, but wondered if anyone can point me in the right direction?

Last time out at Mallory I scratched the side of my bike loading it back on the trailer. I wanted to get it touched up before getting the bike out this year, just not sure what paint...

I sprayed a hugger on my VTR a few years back. I think I took the paint code from under the seat to Halfords and they mixed the paint for me. Not sure though....because they yellow colour is apparently a 2 stage paint, and I ended up with 1 tin of yellow (which was a very good match actually).

Anyway, what I am asking is, does anyone know where to find the Suzuki paint codes (it's a GSXR K4 1000) and if so, can I get a tin of that colour at Halfords with the Suzuki code? I really can't remember how I managed to get the paint for the VTR.

Does anyone know if Halfords mix up paint that's suitable for use in spray guns too?

Have you checked for a sticker under the seat somewhere?

Hmm...seems that Halfords don't have any motorbike references on their system, only cars.

They need a RAL colour to be able to match it.

From the thing above Lloydie sent, seems my bike is Suzuki 019 black, but crouton knows what the RAL colour is. Can't find it anywhere.

Try http://www.rsbikepaint.com
I had to paint a wheel for a mates gsxr k8 and nobody knew the colour recipe, flaked some off the old wheel and sent it to rs. They analysed it and sold me a 1/4 litre of it, perfect match.
