Odd front mudguard

Post by unikarl »

my Storm has an odd looking front mudguard. When I first got the bike I assumed they must all have the same as I was told that it was completely standard. I've seen no others with it though and I think it looks complete sh1t! Is this a diy thing or an aftermarket add on?

Anyone got a standard one in blue for sale by any chance?

The bike was bought for me as a gift from the wife and wasn't exactly as tidy as if liked so I'm gradually sorting it out and making it a bit better so for me the front mudguard has to go!

looks like stock shape and it has then been cut out with some mesh added.

you can pick up a stock one off ebay, but also fit a fender extender to stop the spray up onto the front cyl

as al said, it's a standard mudguard that's been given the blue peter treatment...
keep your eyes on ebay, again al's correct in saying, get a fender extender, some people think it's pipe and slippers time when you buy one, but trust me they're well worth it. and you can get them in carbon fibre.....

Thanks for the replies guys. I did a little search to find a new one and found this...

Exactly the same as mine. I can't see why anyone would spend so much for something that looks so crap IMO.

Anyway, I'll get a standard one bought plus the extender then get a couple of bits painted, fit my quill exhaust and she'll be good to go.

the shape of the cut out sections are completely different, I reckon yours is still a blue peter special, and the person who did it, was trying to copy the carbon fibre powerbronze one.....

Oh yeah, so it is. I'll probably find the mesh is held in with "sticky backed plastic!"
