remus high level fitting tip's?

Post by eddvtr1000 »

high all, just took delivery of some very nice remus titanium high level cans.
fitted them in under a hour without any prob's, but the thing is i cant seem to get the bleedin things equally level from the rear :?
the standard cans were level as far as i can remember and ive tried loosening and retightening in every way i can think of (fitter by trade) :? :?
has anybody got any gem's that'l get them spot on?
apart from that little problem they're great and sound bootiful and the bike run's sweet
cheer's.

thanks zero, thing is matey i dont drink there. how ya doin by the way?
ill have a look at the brackets again when it dries up a bit, but the thing is the left can is bang on right hieght and distance from the number plate but the right one is slightly lower and about an inch or two further away from the bike and slightly scewed :(
apart from brute force and bending stuff i cant seem to get it close to the cans fitting :x
ta for the advice anyhoo, any other pearlers would be appreciated, keep them coming.

Cant you just adjust your number plate a little? Drilling plastic is a lot easier than bending metal

might just be the bends in the link pipes aren't as close as they should be.

know anyone you trust with a pipe bender handy, you could tweek it and try it back on the bike.

well well well, thanks thumper .
remus in thier infinate wisdom ommited the fact that the two spacers for the pillion pegs are 10mm differant in size. and i had them on back to front.
the cans now look better only just out and the fact that the number plate is also slightly off doesnt help much either, thanks cupa :)
so hopefully no bent sub frame.
anyhoo to go slightly off the subject have a look at this http://www.stgeorgesday.com/voting.asp
so all in all cheers for teh help peeps :D
