Back in the Saddle!

Post by backtobiking »

Following a rush of blood to the head I decided I had to get another bike before dementia set in. A decade must have past since I last rode. Prior to stopping riding I rode daily in and around London on a ZX10 and latterly an XJ900. Anyway, I had seen a blue VTR in Dobles in Coulsdon and fell in love.

Unfortunately, whilst plucking up the courage to voice my intention to She Who Must be Obeyed the damn thing sold - bugger! To cut a long story short I'm delighted to announce that I bought one privately off eBay the other day and now the relationship has been consummated! I'm so pleased it's living up to what I had hoped. I know it's not possible for a machine to have a personality but the VTR must come close! I have to stop myself laughing out loud as she spits, gurgles, farts and bangs on the over run - what a fantastic machine! And as for that depressed sounding northerner whose review of the VTR I saw on YouTube , I'm of the opinion he doesn't know what he's talking about.

Cheers All - Fantastic forum!

Many thanks everyone.

Yes, I'm in Purley, Croydon, soon to be moving out a bit further, possibly Dorking or Reigate. Now I'm not dependent on the bike for commuting I intend to lavish all the TLC on her she requires - are there any good mechanics/dealerships or otherwise down here as I'm quite retarded mechanically - needless to say am always happy to pay for time/services. I've not found Dobles the most helpful of places to be honest.

At the next service I'm considering a pre emptive CCT change as I know it hasn't been done, I'm on 22k at the mo.

Had a great little run out yesterday - still getting acquainted type thing. Anyway, southbound on the A217 came up to a set of lights occupied by an unfortunate chap on a Harley Davidson, who no doubt thought he was noisy and a BMW M3 occupied by what appeared to be a juvenile. Needless to say the Fuel exhausts on this beast I've bought completely drowned out the Harley and the M3 went backwards ever so quickly!

Just how long can a 51 year old bloke keep smiling!

Thanks again,

Peter

Get yourself some manual CCT's, come along to the workshop day & fit them with help from one of us...All the tools needed are available.

Don't get std cct's & don't get a dealer to do it. Save money & get it done right.

Very generous offer Mac, thanks. What are the best CCT's to buy and when do these workshops take place. I presume I'd need to book in or something? Sounds too good to be true!
