my son has had a DID heavy duty chain on his Honda cbr 125 for 3 months
I have been getting on to him to keep it lubed
and he has, every week, he has been using
Motul C2 ChainLube Road
but the chain has been stretching
tonight we took a link out because it had stretched that much.
to our horror the chain looked lube on the outside, very sticky and no fling
but inside the links are bone dry and rusty
so this stuff I would say is rubbish, sticks to the outside and that is it
motul chain lube
Re: motul chain lube
Was it an O'ring chain?
It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

I think they come as standard with an O'ring chain - Might be an idea to get a replacement sealed chain.

Re: motul chain lube
It certainly sounds like a lube (is it safe to say that word out loud
) problem, but if you've not already, make sure your son is not running with the chain adjusted too tight, as that will make them stretch quickly. Check it with him sat on the bike after it's been adjusted.

what it said in the Honda owners manual and on a sticker on the swingarm
is, put it on the side stand and measure a total travel of 35mm
which we do every time
got him a new chain and sprockets from c j ball Honda for £68
I was quoted £105 over the phone but I started to spit feathers and nearly chocked on my tea, he then said he thinks it could be the old price of £68
