Jeez us,
Mass defections going on here.
Will be interesting to see how long before .
It will be interesting to see how long it takes for that dreaded affliction called minusvtrous kicks in.
I've seen it before with a mate here in Australia, most unpleasant to watch.
Symptoms include,
1- A bewildered look and ramblings such as "Why did I do that"
2- Constant scanning whilst riding to see if the sufferer can spot a VTR just to be near one
3-Modifications to the new bike in an effort to get it to feel like the VTR
4- Constant ramblings about the prowess of the new bike that always use the VTR as the comparison, very common ones are to do with power, brakes , and suspension.
There are many other subtle signs of this affliction that usually culminate in the last symptom
5- Purchase of another VTR as a side hobby, and the usual line is "I got it just to tinker with, or it was too good a bargain to pass up.
I myself have suffered from this but in reverse, other bikes have come and gone, but the VTR stays.
Could be that I am on the other side of the world though and that is why other bikes come and go and the VTR stays.
My affliction could be called "VTRousstays"
Good luck with your new toys boys, now all you need to do is figure out what to do with all the spare time you will have on your hands.

TBH i was looking for a quad for my mate and saw this for sale, i loved the look and went for a ride, very low miles and it sounds awesome too. The handling seems amazing as it is. Its not too windy without a screen etc and is so light. The guy bought my Storm but will probably sell it. I told him about the forum. I didnt even get time to put it on here to see if anybody was interested.
missing the noise, not the vibes. However never say never!

Re: what have you done to your
I've sprayed a fair few wheels and plastic panels, and I've yet to achieve a great finish, wheels are easier imho, just last week I sprayed a seat cowl boon silver, that's the name for firestorm silver, it came ok, but the lacquer isn't as glossy as i'd like. plus I have to spray outside, and quite often I end up with crap being blown onto the wet paint....grrrrr!lloydie wrote:It takes time and patience but you'll get there [THUMBS UP SIGN]kev64 wrote:Messed up my centre fairing panel (again)

or bugs landing on it double grrrr!
but practice makes perfect, and from what I've seen, it is possible to get a decent finish using spray cans.

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today
decided it was time to look for the coolant leak on the pineapple express.
I took the fairing off, cleaned the area on top of the clutch cover where the fluid had been pooling up.
ran the bike up to temp......103/104/105/106/107/108 and still the fan hadn't kicked in, and roughly between 103 and 108 a couple of tablespoons of fluid had leaked onto the clutch cover.
I checked the fuse for the fan, as i'm sure it kicks in around 104, the fuse was fine, but then I remembered Al on the monopoly run, his problem turned out to be a faulty fuse, even tho it looked good.
fuse changed and the fan kicked in at 105.....
I let the engine cool slightly 3 more times, each time running it back up to temp and each time the fan kicked in, and no coolant leak. all I can assume was as the temp rose the pressure built up until it forced fluid past one of the hose's, there's a chance one of the jubilee clips isn't quite tight enough.
so fingers crossed that's that sorted and I didn't have to take off the tank/airbox and carbs......phew!!!!
I've also fitted the givi rack, flip screen, i'll check all the fluids and tyre pressures, lube the chain ready for the weekend.
oh and it might even get a clean.
