I think I'll try and make this as well.... But, B&B for me (watch out for the Midges).

you will enjoy it mate........ midges are not a problem that location and time of year. I think it is too far from the river for them to breed there, but there are loads of good B&B's in the town, you just miss the team drinking and talking baldrocks in the camp site.

Don't worry, I can BS with the best. I practice drinking quite often as well....

The plan would probably be to leave the bike at the campsite, for security. Then, as you all start crawling into soggy tents I stagger down to the village and into a nice warm fluffy bed!

My Niece is getting Married that weekend, so I'm going to be a No Show I'm afraid
Damn pesky kids and future happiness! Don't they know us Duffers have plans and like to have fun too 8O

That's a shame Pete, would have been great to see you up there.

Get them to move the wedding up there, there is a great church and a few good places for a reception :D

Not that I'm unsociable or anything like that but if I could get the pair of them to run off to Gretna Green I would  We could all turn up then, my niece is a bit of a biker at heart.
Personally, I'd rather they saved their money and used it on what they need rather than waste it on a big wedding but maybe that's because I'm part Scott or just getting old and less romantic
Either way, as long as they are happy, it's alright by me

It's been about eleven years since the last time I did any touring around Scotland, I guess another year won't make much difference :(
We'll catch up at Devon Ali
