Nervous shakedown

Post by kev64 »

My day off so I decided to do a few bits and pieces on the bike
Bled the brakes front and back, freed the disc bobbins
Pillion grab rail bracket fitted
new headlight bulb fitted
weekly checks all done
So I fancy a quick 25 mile shake down to check my brakes etc

Ive gotta little circuit that I do that is just nice for this

So I head to Kidderminster and take my usual left all is good
Suddenly a bike appears from nowhere behind me, checking its not the cops,
its a power ranger on an R1 !!!
Ok, so I opened up the vee twin and hes on my tail, we weave through the bits of traffic
till we come to the next island, so I take a left down a quite road I know well back to droitwich
Checking hes still behind I decide to go for it (the shake down is officially cancelled)
So I wound my mighty vee twin up and hes still coming, this guy means business !!

So were hammering through the country side and we hit a village, so im down to 40 and hes there 20 yards behind me
looking mean, im starting to sweat as I see the diagonal black sign that means..... WOT
Im away and the front wheels in the air and hes close but I know the road well, knee down through the on coming bends im doing well
but hes still there, amazingly no traffic about and we race for a further few miles, god im enjoying this, the old vee twins still got
some grunt !!
So we hit the next island and its about a mile till my turn off back home, coming out the bend again its WOT and im
doing some stupid speed, then the r1 goes past me doing a stupid speed +20, then I get to test my brakes big time
at the next island, the mystery power ranger gives me the thumb and hes away

Well I certainly wont forget that shake down !!!!!
