CK, it sounds nasty............ make sure you get all the rest you need, and make sure you are OK before you get on the bike for Devon.

Yup, very picky it seems. Which is good for us, as we get a good item for sweetie money! When I spoke to Alex Doherty at Pro-Bolt, he said the machining used VERY rarely produces an item that can be deemed as a "factory second". So that rules out the possibility of ever getting a complete bolt kit at a reduced price (he said that would never happenchippy 55 wrote:Fitted one of those shiny bolts from pro bolt...their QC must be real picky...slight marks on the face

He followed it with the all important "the reduced/seconds are still better quality than a lot of other bolt manufacturers", and the "nicks or chips won't affect performance".
I think it was damn good value, taking into account the cost of a jiffy bag, the card they send with it, the wee sample of anti seize, and the poly zip-bag it was in and they paid for the postage!
I haven't fitted mine yet

I'm relieved that everyone who ordered this bolt on my recommendation is happy with theirs. I'd have felt a right berk if they arrived, and you all bollocked me for raving about something that turned out to be a waste of money and a P.O.S.

If it ain't broken...f*ck about with it until it is.

Looks a lot better than she actually is. Should have the crash bungs tomorrow, still need to sort the handle bar and wait till I have the money to get the footpeg and brake lever.

That little bump hurt
The bike is coming on. Today I have removed all the decals and fitted new crash bungs.
Tried to find my drill to drill out the snapped bolt for the bar but I can't find it

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today
.
Had a film casting today for the new Whisky Galore remake, so that meant having to sneak the bike out once more to get there.

Got home, and carried out a fresh oil and filter change at 34,694 miles.
Silkolene V-Twin 10W 40 (3.9litres), Hi-flo HF303 Filter and, a new sump washer (part number 94109-12000).
Never made a mess this time (which I usually do by either knocking the oil catcher over, dropping me socket in it, or, leaving oily handprints on every surface and light-switch through the whole house).

I haven't mastered the 'oil change without mess' operation yet. I always always get some on the floor...walls, bike, car, wife, dog and my own face.
By the way, hoping to carbon wrap my tank this weekend!

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today
I done jetting. Then more jetting, adjusted the air screws on the front carb, played with the Flo Commander and now have Lambda readings that are ok at open throttle situations, but it still reads 9:1 to 10:1 on tickover.
It'll do for now.
I need smaller main jets than I have, so on Saturday I'll pop over to HM Racing to raid their stock.

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
