Dragged the tent out of the attic and put it up in the garden today.
No holes in it, so the moths have left it alone
Bought a new tin of gas for me burner and some new boxers for the ride up-All set to go

My new ride is a bit of a Howler and I love to make her Squeal

looks like we will have typical Scottish weather, in that it will keep changing from 1 hr to the next.!!!!

currently looks like we will get a few showers on the ride up Friday but the Saturday could be dry.......... that works fine for me the big fun is Saturday, and it was much the same last year.

Also MrsMcQ has decided that she will be going up to see her family in Kirkcudbright that weekend too, so I will send my gear up in the car with her, and she will be in the holiday house keeping my bed warm for me :D :D

Does that mean that Sunday breakfast is round at yours?
Bloody hell, I'll have to bring my own stove and kettle this year!

Does the campsite know that we are coming?

Was thinking as I trundled up the A9 today, seeing as you normally all have to wait on me, I'll volunteer for backmarker for Saturday!
Don't hassle me
I'll get there at some time

Stuart, answers in Bold

Does that mean that Sunday breakfast is round at yours? - no problem
Bloody hell, I'll have to bring my own stove and kettle this year! - I will put the stove, Kettle, and all the disposable bbq's in the car, so no need to bring extra
Does the campsite know that we are coming? - there is no booking system, you just turn up and they fit you in, but I will call them to warn them about Ady

Was thinking as I trundled up the A9 today, seeing as you normally all have to wait on me, I'll volunteer for backmarker for Saturday! - Thanks, that will be a big help

If that's what you think I think you'll have you ride my bike up. Have you any idea how even a box of malteasers can upset the handling let alone a sleeping bag, tent and panniers
Not that I'm old enough to own a beemer, I might be tempted to try one after a couple of hundred miles

This little Beemer has been known to suprise a few bikes in the past, but with all the weight on she might struggle a bit trying to stay with you both unless I go full on banzai mode with headphones full of Megadeath

still looks like we will have a dry day saturday

Friday and sunday may not be so good though :(

so the plan will be similar to last year for the Friday in that all those travelling up from Engerland will meet in Settle at the petrol station on the main street near the railway....... suggest we meet there at 12 noon and then go up to Hawes where we will grab some lunch.
who will be meeting there?
AMCQ46
PeteL
AdyF
Countrymick?????
Steve6088???????

anybody else?????????? tell me if you are going to join us there as this is where the good roads start :D :D

https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid= ... sp=sharing
from Hawes we can go over buttertubs pass again then down into Sedburgh, then to Kendal, then up the A6 towards Carlisle and fill up at the Golden Fleece service station where the A6 and M6 join........ we will meet KermittLeFrog there

then I guess we are meeting Stuart [grumpyfrog] in Morrisons café in Dumfries?

then back roads to Kirkcudbright where we should meet up with Fabiostar and mate

gents please advise where you want to meet up and then we will make sure we wait for you
