Half way though new chain and sprockets.

Spent most of the time cleaning years of oily gunk from everthing. Tempted now to disassemble the swingarm linkages. I'm sure they need some tlc...

Not exactly today but the past 2 days... I put my original storm back together. Things are picking up... will be mobile again real soon and after being laid up for near a year iv'e decided to use her as my winter hack.
Just a few small jobs left to do.. battery currently on charge, fingers crossed she starts in the morning.

Thanks Martin... still no rush for the tube mate, that's for the other bike :P

What I really did to my bike today.....
Fitted... front indicators (these are only temp), belly, foot rests, mirrors, filled her with fuel. Pressed the button and BOOM!!! Cranked into life and started like she had never stopped! Very happy as well as impressed considering how long she been stood... and also bare in mind she had been started a couple times over the months just to get the oil around the engine but that was after the tank was taken off so carbs were empty.

This will be her final form until she takes up shelf space next year.

I would imagine this kind of thing has been posted numerous times but since I'm new here still, I'm gonna jump in on this thread too.
When i bought the storm it had this (in my opinion) horrible purple screen.

But today mr postie delivered a nice new light smoke one for me. :D

never liked blue or purple screens, maybe on a 90's bike with crazy 90's paintwork, like the RF900 or a FZR600, but not on a single coloured bike.
and yes I have a purple screen collecting dust in the shed, it came with a silver bike....
