Most mot places will do the same high end or not, they will have equipment to lift bikes but there is limited time to do an mot and the charge is often less than the hourly labour rate, what would you do, if honest you'd lift it on the stand... I never do it without an assistant, if the bike doesn't lift easily or readily i use a stand instead, i don't spin them around on the stand, and i don't bodge !..
What do you think about that fact that there's manufacturers that recommend jacking bikes up on the exhaust down pipes ?...if it's strong enough and done carefully it's ok

Sorry, did not mean it to come across like that....
I mean to say, with a small independent garage, be it bike or car etc, I can understand it's not financially possible or practical to have "all the fancy gear" so these places, get a good job done, at a good price, and I use them all the time.
However, I would hope (and perhaps I'm wrong here) if you took your Car / Bike to a Mercedes, BMW, Porsche etc etc etc specialist place then it would be spotless, squeaky clean and have every high tech bit of kit for every model.. I mean that's why they are main dealers
I realise this is probably not true, and a small dealer (good one) can have a far better, more experienced mechanic there, and the main dealers may employ young trainees. I know a Ford one near me did, very poor garage and tip top pricing.
I'm sure "YOU" are a top mechanic, and I'd be happy to come for a MOT or work to be done anytime
