Re: Castleton, Ladybower, Bakewell
I went for a quick ride out up to Ashbourne, Buxton , cat and fiddle.
nightmare !! average speed cameras everywhere !! It aint wales ! But the scenery was nice.
You got any routes up there in the Peak district that aren't constantly monitored?
Any suggested routes as I aint been up there really.
As im coming from Birmingham a start point would be Ashbourne
Thanks , Kev

Re: Castleton, Ladybower, Bakewell
CheekyKev has a few good roads round that way. snake pass, goyt valley, and I don't mind the cat and fiddle as the average speed cameras mean there is less chance of a speed trap, and all you need to do is stop in a layby before exiting each section.......... simples.kev64 wrote:I went for a quick ride out up to Ashbourne, Buxton , cat and fiddle.

I would cut a few bits out, as it would be a bit much for 1 day including getting up to buxton, I think it was designed by someone who lived in chesterfield, so I would drop that and the matlock bits, as they are usually too busywith cars

Re: Castleton, Ladybower, Bakewell
Yeah there's plenty of good roads to ride on in Derbyshire but you need to know where they are, the ones you're all familiar with are usually too busy, or as mentioned riddled with speed cameras, some of the better ones are hidden away off the beaten track, when I figure out how to do a map I'll post it up, or better still, I'll PM it to anyone who's interested, don't want everyone to know where they are do we maybe AMCQ46 can show me how to do it when we meet up at the Opp Storm in RhayaderAMCQ46 wrote:

I ride that whole area quite often. I'm in Macc so it's all on my doorstep, will keep an eye out for you all. I'd be interested in that hidden map Kev
