Re: goldwing
I can't say for certain, without seeing what model GL it is. Yes, ok, an 1100. Is it naked (no fairing) or is it the interstate full fairing, panniers and top box? Does it actually run? Is it clunky through the gearbox? What like is the body work? Why hasn't it been run for 10 years? All too many factors without seeing a few photos of it to cast my eye over.
You could be looking at 500 quid for an unfaired version that is a real dog, or anything up to £1500 for an old 1100 with all the whistles and bells in pretty good nick. (Some silly sods ask over 2 grand for them - but that's just daft and not realistic at all for what it is.)
If it's been sitting for 10 years, a LOT will probably need replaced. And even if you got it cheap (say 5 or 600 quid), you could spend the same amount replacing tyres, plugs, bearings, fluids etc. But, you WILL get that back on resale after winter.
Even if you bought it for a grand, you could still make a healthy profit - but depending again on what it's like to start with and what needs done.
Sorry, these prices aren't gonna help anyone without seeing it!

...there y'go (all you miserable buggers with short attention spans) ...surely no-one has lost the will to live reading that short reply?
I wonder what you all talk about at OP Storms? I mean, do you actually talk? or does everyone just speak 2 lines and then wait for a reply?

If you do go ahead with it, and it doesn't come with a work manual, PM me with yer email address, and I'll send you a Haynes Manual via PDF file for the GL1100 1979-1981 (Haynes No. 669)
As the bike yer looking at is W Reg, that's August 1980 to July 81. It covers the following models (unfaired and Interstate versions):
GL1100 Standard (unfaired) USA version 1979
GL1100 Interstate (USA) 1979
GL1100 KA 1980
GL1100 KB - Dec 1980
GL1100 DB 1981
GL1100 DB & DX (deluxe) 1981
