I have just bought a storm and im thrilled to bits with her. its only done 11000 miles on a s plate(98) .It goes like a dream and the only thing ive noticed is that if i slow down on the brakes and dont change down gear, say ive been doing 30 slowing to 15 (or slower) ive held the clutch in all the way when i blip the throttle (with the clutch still in) theres a knock. its happened a coupple of times. its got straight through(not for road use) ART race cand on at the mo and i cant tell if its cam chain rattle or what because its so loud. any ideas or people experienced the same prob?
Many thanks
Alex
Knock sound
burble burble donk
Mine does it too. Always thought it was a bit weird but its never got worse.
Maybe my carbs need balancing cos it hasnt been done in a while.
It is weird though, I can feel it through the seat.

red is the fastest colour;)
knocking
I get the odd knock from the cylinder pointing at our balls - think it just need balancing and carbie clean, maybe along with new plugs - after all it is a 98 ( 8 years old ) so if it has happened more tha once and the engine hasn't crapped it self the problem is more than likely in your head and could be soted/smoothend out with a good service
ok ok I'll do it..........later
i have found that they need balancing a bit more often than they say you should do it
i do mine once a month only takes ten mins as i have fitted pipes and t'fittings so i dont have to remove the tank
but even then it still does it every now and again but now it doesnt stall like it used to
ei also relocated the carb breather tubes under advice from a couple of other extremely trusted mechanics
