Quite some time ago, my trusty VTR vibrated it's little pop screw thingies out that are supposed to hold the underside of the cowl that goes around the seat. I persevered for a bit, replacing them, but have long since given up, so it's now only really secured at the top. Any suggestions? Have thought of an under-tray. How do these fit on & will that solve the problem?
Do tell...

Those pop screw thingies are a crock of sh1te anyhow
I've replaced mine with a couple of number plate bolts (plastic nut and bolt, come in a variety of colours but usually black or yellow)
Like these
An undertray isn't gonna help either as they're designed to use the same pop screws (but they do look much better and give you LOADS of room under the seat!! Currently got spare visor, puncture repair kit, extra tools and waterproof trousers under mine)

Got the same one as thiskevg wrote:what type of undertray you got fitted ben, i thought most of them just fitted on under the existing tray, after you cut the number plate flap off. where does the battery stay?
You can just stick it under the original one
OR
You cut the battery box off the original and leave that in place
Cut the rear off the original and mount that for the electrics to sit on (flasher relays, CDI etc)
Then the new undertray gives you a cavernous boot in between
If you want more details inc pics of the cutting of a standard undertray, let me know and I'll post it up

i was wondering as i bought an unpainted one from e bay a few weeks ago, needs trimmed and the holes cut in it also, including the seat lock hole. i don't think i'll get round to fitting it any time soon though, new job only gives me a day and a half a weekend at home at the moment, no time to do anything really.
